Finally Mesmers Get Some Attention!

An in game friend gave me this link: Regina's words . Time for some Mesmer buffing fun! I'm excited to see what they make better for Mesmers in PvE. I know Scott is happy about this. Mesmer is one of his favorites.
In the meantime he has developed a great build for PvE. It is near as good as a necromancer SS. So, if you want to try Mesmer or keep the one you have from collecting dust, try this build while we wait for the new update to come! OQhkAoC8AGKUbZOQnnbjNIKAUwFD

I really enjoy my mesmer. Challenging to play. But only in a few situations are Mesmer skills so needed that they can't be replaced with more damage. And that's a damned shame. I'm looking forward to whatever changes occur. Should just be a few days away if the birthday is the rollout day.
Sure love Flesh of my Flesh eh? I stay away from it whenever I can. For all the benefits of speed and recharge time, it burdens the healer with 2 seperate heals he needs to do after it finishes.

Hmm... I'm excited for this, my assassin needs better dmg buffs! Unless they're change mostly fastcasting

It's by far my favorite res skill aside from Unyielding Aura, and usually my default res skill for all my classes (except when I'm using a secondary profession for something more specifically useful than just res, of course). The health cut is a negligible detriment when compared to its strong benefits of a relatively fast casting time and instant recharge in particular. I usually tend to have some sort of self-healing on most of my builds, and even when I don't, I can usaully evade getting hurt at long range well enough that I don't really worry about wandering around with a health cut for a little bit.scienter wrote:Sure love Flesh of my Flesh eh? And I posted my ideas for the Mesmer HERE.

Im so happy. I love when they retool skills. Its like christmas, even if I dont play this game all that often anymore.
Also....a definite christmas moment for me, they added drops to the Peacekeeper/white mantle foes, along with bountys, trophies, and items you can earn from trading the trophies in.
Happy days. Ill be sure to log in when I get to the states on sunday.
If my internet works, you guys should see me on a bit tonight. =D

Yay, Zach! It is like Christmas for Scott and I too. They've definitely made mesmers much more powerful for AoE! We think with these new skill changes a separate full domination mes and illusion mes could possibly out do eles for AOE damage.

I updated my Mesmer builds HERE.
The mesmer seems incredibly brutal now, and I forsee them taking a strong role in party lines from now on. I don't think I've ever seen this amount of reliable spike damage from a single character before. From my own testing, it seems like a dual mesmer pair (one on illusion and one on domination) working together can consistently output more spike damage than an entire team of "Destructive Was Glaive" Ritualists.

So now that there has been a few days for people to try, how are we liking the new Mesmers? Do they live up to the hopes in actual play?

I think they do, Scienter. The Illusion build Scott made is amazing. Domination is good too, I just haven't tried that one as much yet. If there is only one mes in the team, Illusion is probably the way to go if you want good spike AOE.
