Leveling
Fri Jul 30, 2010 11:53 am
I was browsing around on the blog site and of course noticed a point of interest for all GW fans. The blog is of course leveling and the max level players can achieve for their characters. I did mention it momentarily in-game however I would like to note that I might have made the incorrect assumption on leveling in the game.
This could mean that xp does indeed increase overtime as a requirement for gaining a new level, however when it comes to actually achieving the level itself, that time as a factor would not necessarily increase.
In this case meaning getting from 79-80 shouldn't take you a month of solid grinding as displayed with the graph on the blog site.
So if it takes us about 1 hour to get from 5 to 6, then it should take about an hour to get from 79 to 80, at least that is the news for now. Anyway enough from me, go read the blog!

From GW2 BlogWe expect content—not long, grindy progression—to be the deciding factor that keeps people playing our game.
Right on! That's what I'm talking about.

Sounds good! Although I think they're making it sound a bit more revolutionary than it really is. There are a lot of games that do use the blue 'sloped' leveling curve, but both GW1 and WoW basically already have the red 'steady' leveling curve in place.
